How to travel the Indian side of the Himalayas (1/14)
Namaste!
Before planning something on the Indian side of the Himalayas, I want you to know its significance and how we (Indians) see it.
India has 28 states and 8 union territories, out of which we have 13 Himalayan states and UTs, namely Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal.
74% of the Himalayas are part of India. We take these mountains very seriously because they are responsible for 40% of fertile pastures, defence from the other side, and, most importantly, the climatic balance in the country and the South Asian region.
In all these regions, people living there have different languages and cultures. But one thing is common: we treat our mountains as gods because they are a crucial part of our lives.
Yes, we have multiple gods in the region, and they never contradict each other, whereas they coexist with this number of thoughts. This taught us intolerance, coexistence, and respect for each other.
The Himalayas are not just part of today's modern society but also home to hundreds of tribes. You can find all the fancy stuff for leisure vacations, adventure sports, luxury travel with peace of mind, and meditation centres.
But you must know the right place where you should be making bookings. I have spent more than 12 years visiting these places and will be helping you understand these mountains and the best places to explore.
In my upcoming blogs, we will be exploring these magnificences and magical mountains. Also, share my beautiful and horrifying experiences.
Stay tuned with me.
Namaste!
